Introduction
The Learning and Participation Project provides community education and learning opportunities on disability related topics and issues.
Services Provided
Consultation
- The Learning and Participation Project staff consult with, and talk to people with disabilities, families and services to identify current issues or topics impacting on people with disabilities.
Co-ordination
- The Learning and Participation Project staff co-ordinate and sometimes purchase community education and learning sessions on a range of topics.
- Regular community education sessions include Disability Awareness, the Flip Side Experience, No Dissing Abilities and a range of Planning for the Future topics.
Support
The Learning and Participation Project provides support by:
- working with Disability Services to identify, plan and deliver community education and learning activities
- acting as a link between Services for information and support
- hosting the Disability Services Interagency meeting
- purchasing training to enhance the skills of Disability Services and workers
- hosting the Women's Friendship Group
